Paulo Estudante holds a PhD on Music and Musicology from the Université de la Sorbonne (Paris IV). He is a Musicology graduate (Sorbonne, France) and a Computer Science graduate (Oporto U., Portugal).

Lecturer at the University of Coimbra (Portugal) and member of the research teams Centro de Estudos Clássicos e Humanísticos (U. Coimbra), coordinates (with José Abreu) the project Mundos e Fundos | Methodological and Interpretative World of Music Collections. His field of research covers various aspects of the Portuguese Music Heritage prior to the 19th century.
