Pilar Ramos López is University Lecturer (Profesora Titular) in the History of Music at the Universidad de la Rioja (Spain). Prior to coming to La Rioja in 2007, she was lecturer at the Universities of Girona and Granada (Spain). After her university degrees in Musicology (Universidad de Oviedo) and History of Art (University of Granada), she attended some courses at the universities of McGill and Montréal (Canada). She has been visiting scholar at the universities of Oxford and Cambridge (UK). She has been invited to teach more than 20 doctoral and master courses at several universities. She belonged to the Editorial Board of the journal Revista de Musicología. At present, she is vice chairwoman of the Sociedad Española de Musicología (SEdeM), a member of the Editorial Board of the Collection “Musica” of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), and of the Collection “Monografías de Música Hispana” of the Instituto Complutense de Ciencias Musicales (ICCMU). As editor, she has published Discursos y prácticas musicales nacionalistas (1900-1970) (Logroño: Universidad de La Rioja, 2012). She is author of the books Feminismo y música. Introducción crítica (Madrid: Narcea, 2003) and La música en la Catedral de Granada en la primera mitad del siglo XVII: Diego de Pontac 2 vols. (Granada: Diputación Provincial, 1994), and she has published some fifteen book chapters and articles on music historiography, history of women, Early Modern and Modern Spanish music.
