Ana López graduated from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam after studies with Marieke Schneemann, then obtained a Master’s degree in Early Music performance in the class of the world-renowned traverso player Wilbert Hazelzet at the Utrechts Conservatorium. In 2001–04 she was a regular guest performer in several symphony orchestras in Spain (Córdoba, Extremadura, Principado de Asturias, Cádiz). Then she worked intensively within the field of Early Music as a founding member of the ensembles Carmen Veneris, Dolce Sirena, Melante, Ars Hispaniae, and Canto Divino, and performed regularly as a guest in some of Spain’s most prestigious festivals and ensembles, such as Forma Antiqva, Aranjuez Festival's Orchestra, Capilla Peñaflorida, Festival de Musica Antigua del Monasterio de la Valldigna (Valencia), Semana de Música Religiosa de Cuenca, Festival de Música Antigua de Aranjuez, FEMÁS Sevilla, and Festival de Saintes. Since 2011 she has been performing regularly with the Japanese fortepianist Megumi Tanno and the pianist María Floristán Imízcoz, approaching Romantic repertoire and Boehm flute performance from a historically informed perspective. Her recordings include Ensemble Carmen Veneris: “Un viaje musical por la Europa de las Luces,” featuring works by Johann Christoph Friedrich Bach, François Devienne, Tommaso Giordani, and Jean-François Tapray (Lindoro, 2008); and Dolce Sirena: “Pastime—The Henry VIII Manuscript,” with a Renaissance flute consort (Arsis, 2013)In recent years, she has taught at several conservatories in Andalucía, and now is a researcher financed by the regional government of Castilla y León at the University of Valladolid.
